Grammar!
It's a beast for everyone that uses the English language! I do not expect 3rd graders to be grammar experts, but I do want them to know what each part of a sentence is.
The basics are:
*Nouns (people, places, things)
*Verbs (show action or help show action, or link a sentence together
*Adjectives (describe ONLY a noun)
*Pronouns take the place of nouns
*Adverbs "add" to a verb and tells when, where, or how
Prepositions tell the "position" of the noun (or pronoun)
