What is Read to Achieve?
"RTA" is a law that passed in 2013 that says all 3rd grade students must be a proficient
reading level before they can be promoted to the 4th grade.

Good Cause exemptions for the '14-'15 school year:
*if your child achieves any of these items at any point in the year they will then be exempt from the RTA law!
*if your child achieves any of these items at any point in the year they will then be exempt from the RTA law!
- a student has a TRC level of P or higher
- a student passed the BOG with a 3 or higher
- a student has a DORF composite score of 180 or less.
- a student has been in CCR for 2 or more consecutive years
- a student is ESL (English as a Second Language) and has been in an ESL program for less than 2 years.
